General Dynamics has more than 50 years of experience designing and manufacturing spacecraft electronics, from restricted and unrestricted payloads and processors to subsystem and avionics components to customized software and mission databases.
Our payloads are recognized throughout the industry for mission success and our Information Warfare Planning Capability software was announced as the standard for information warfare planning by the Department of Defense in 2006.
Payloads and Processors Our onboard processors are designed and delivered to perform in the most demanding space environment. The platforms are flexible, reprogrammable and reconfigurable. Our three-level reliability strategy ensures that we avoid faults, allow for continuous operation with failed or upset components, and provides functional redundancy, giving complete mission assurance to our customers. Payloads and processors include:

Subsystem and RF Components Our flight-proven spaceborne components make us a major supplier in complex space communications and data handling electronics, miniaturized power components and on-board software development, including:
- RF/Microwave power amplifiers
- GPS receivers
- Command and data handling subsystems
- Battery charge control and power conditioning subsystems
- Space qualified RAID disk drives
- Electrical ground support equipment
- Payload interface subsystems
- Space network routers
Additionally, in our thermal products center, we perform the design, manufacture, and installation of multi layer insulation thermal blankets for space systems, subsystems, and other aerospace applications.
Software Our software products are developed and tested in conjunction with hardware platforms, using CMMI® Level 5 software and system engineering processes, ensuring mission success. Our software is mission-unique, man-rates and safety-critical. Our software includes:
