MightySat II.1  Satellite

MightySat II.1 was the first mission of an Air Force program initiated in 1995 to develop a small, economical, standardized space demonstration platform to enable the rapid transition of some of the Nation's most advanced technologies in imaging, communications, and spacecraft bus components from the laboratory to space flight operations.

Successfully launched in July 2000, MightySat II.1 carried ten experiments, including the Fourier Transform Hyperspectral Imager (FTHSI), the only DoD space-based hyperspectral imager to use the Fourier transform technique to discern spectrally unique objects.

General Dynamics provided the spacecraft design and manufacture, and suuport to on-orbit operations.
