Michigan Research and Development Center (MRDC)
General Dynamics’ MRDC is located in a custom-built campus in Michigan's Ypsilanti Township. The 250,000 square foot facility contains three wings which house offices, state-of-the-art laboratories, conference rooms, collaboration areas, a 160-seat auditorium, a high bay, an outdoor test range, and an observadome supporting phase diversity and space imaging research. The facility includes many closed areas in support of sensitive compartmented information.
MRDC conducts advanced research, design, and development of proof-of-concept prototypes, and integration of subsystems/systems that support leading-edge remote sensing. Core competencies include synthetic aperture radar; advanced electro-optic and infra-red imaging; electromagnetics, RF signatures and diagnostics; RF signal analysis and signal processing; software architectures and distributed systems.
